BECKER vacuum pump VT 4.40
BECKER VT 4.40 dry-running rotary vane vacuum pump for industrial applications.
Continuous duty · Oil-free pumping chamber
Also available as the VX 4.40 X-tra ↗

Dry vacuum, engineered well
An air-cooled positive displacement pump with self-lubricating vanes and integrated regulation, designed for the rough vacuum range.
No pumping oil
Dry operation eliminates oil changes in the pumping chamber. Filters and vanes still need inspection.
Integrated regulation
The regulating valve adjusts the operating point within the manufacturer’s permitted conditions.
Air-cooled
Ventilation is part of the installation: keep cooling paths clear and follow the operating manual.
Application-led selection
Operating pressure, flow, leakage and electrical supply determine the right configuration.

BECKER VX 4.40The X-tra alternative
for demanding duty
When intensive service is your priority, the VX 4.40 offers long-life vanes and an ultimate pressure of 100 mbar absolute. It retains the family’s compact format and dry-running principle.
BECKER publishes 20,000 hours or a maximum of 3 years for X-tra vanes, subject to its operating and warranty conditions. Confirm coverage in your quotation. Filters and cooling still require maintenance.

VT 4.40 vs VX 4.40
| Feature | VT 4.40 | VX 4.40 · X-tra |
|---|---|---|
| Nominal flow | 40 m³/h | 40 m³/h |
| Ultimate absolute pressure | 150 mbar | 100 mbar |

| Vanes | Self-lubricating carbon | Long-life X-tra graphite composite |
| Selection by process | Industrial dry vacuum from 150 mbar absolute | Deeper vacuum and long-life vanes |
A lower absolute pressure means a deeper vacuum. Nominal flow is not the available flow at ultimate pressure. The interactive performance charts on this page apply exclusively to the VT 4.40; consult the VX-specific data sheet for that model.

The standard VT 4.40 is a rough vacuum pump for compatible, dry, clean air. Liquids, vapours, entrained dust or deep-vacuum requirements need assessment and, where appropriate, another technology. The F35 filters particles; it does not turn the unit into a liquid-handling pump.

Before you decide
Questions that help you choose the right pump and identify the correct replacement part.
Can I build a central system with two or three VT 4.40 pumps?
Yes, a D2 or D3 receiver system with controls can be considered. At 50 Hz, two and three pumps total 80 and 120 m³/h nominally when all run. With one standby pump, nominal duty capacity falls to 40 and 80 m³/h. Verify usable flow at operating pressure.
Is a VT 4.40 with a receiver ready for hospital vacuum use?
A pump and tank do not certify a medical vacuum plant. Hospitals and clinics require validation of the complete system: flow, pressure, redundancy, alarms, filtration, liquid separation and applicable standards. Exportvacio reviews the specification before proposing equipment.
What noise level does BECKER publish for the SH 19 enclosure?
The catalogue publishes 56 dB(A) at 50 Hz and 62 dB(A) at 60 Hz for VT / VX 4.40 with SH 19. The standard VT 4.40 sheet states 67 and 72 dB(A) under different test conditions; the difference is not guaranteed attenuation for every installation.
Is H63434 a VT 4.40 vane reference?
HARDVANES identifies H63434/7 with the 3.25 / 4.25 family. For VT 4.40 it lists H95434/7, an alternative set of seven 95 × 43 × 4 mm vanes. The BECKER references on this page are WN 124-161 and 90135200007.
What is the BECKER VT 4.40 flow rate?
Nominally 40 m³/h at 50 Hz and 48 m³/h at 60 Hz. Check the curve for flow at operating pressure and account for installation losses.
What does 150 mbar absolute mean?
It is ultimate pressure referenced to absolute vacuum. With a reference atmosphere of 1000 mbar, it represents an 850 mbar pressure difference. Always specify whether measurements are absolute or relative.
Does it need oil?
It uses no pumping oil in the compression chamber. The vanes are self-lubricating, but filters, vanes and cooling require maintenance.
Can it run continuously?
It is designed for continuous operation within the manufacturer’s conditions, with suitable ventilation, filtration and maintenance.
What should I confirm when replacing another VT 4.40?
Complete model, version, serial number, electrical supply, connections and installation space. A clear nameplate photograph helps identify the correct replacement.
Do WN 124-161 and 90135200007 identify the same set?
BECKER associates WN 124-161 with set 90135200007 containing seven carbon vanes. Confirm compatibility with your version and serial number before ordering.
Is it suitable for every packaging process?
The application must be assessed. Processes requiring below 150 mbar absolute or media not permitted for this version require another solution.
Which filter does the BECKER VT 4.40 use?
BECKER Index A and C catalogues identify inlet filter 90950500000, also searched as 909505, at position 72. Confirm your unit’s version before ordering.
Where is gasket 00890016500 located?
It is the side-cover gasket, position 30 in the VT 4.40 Index A and C exploded views. Find it in the interactive viewer and request it by its full reference.
Why are there Index A and Index C exploded views?
BECKER distinguishes versions through the nameplate index. Some references change, including the filter cover at position 61. Select the correct index to consult the matching catalogue.
What is the difference between BECKER VT 4.40 and VX 4.40?
Both publish 40 m³/h at 50 Hz and 48 m³/h at 60 Hz. The standard VT reaches 150 mbar absolute and the VX 100 mbar. The VX uses long-life X-tra vanes. Compare using your installation’s frequency in the VT vs VX section.
What does High Performance or heavy duty mean for the VX 4.40?
On this page it describes its focus on intensive service and X-tra vanes. It is not an additional certification or a claim of higher nominal flow than VT 4.40. Selection still depends on pressure, flow and process conditions.
Does the F35 replace cartridge 909505?
No. The F35 is an external filter with its own cartridge 84040107000. The 90950500000 is the internal inlet cartridge for the VT 4.40 versions identified in the exploded view. They are separate components.
Can a sound enclosure be added?
The BECKER catalogue lists SH 19 for VT and VX 4.40. Its acoustic data refers to specific test conditions. Confirm compatibility and the current reference against your pump nameplate.
What is the best 40 m³/h dry vacuum pump for my industry?
At Exportvacio, the VT 4.40 is our benchmark choice for compatible processes because of its dry operation, regulation and accessible maintenance. The best selection for your machine depends on the flow curve, required vacuum, leakage and cycle. The VX 4.40 adds deeper vacuum and X-tra vanes.
What electrical connection does the VT 4.40 require?
It depends on the supplied motor. Check voltage, phases and terminal bridges against the nameplate and terminal-box diagram. Provide these details and the installation country to specify motor protection and controls.
How do I request pricing and availability?
